    I know what you mean, My professer assigned karen armstrong’s book in the begining for my religious classic texts class. It is her interpration of genisis. it is very in depth, but it has genisis in the back, I like it alot. and I think it was a good choise for the christian portion of the class. we are also doing some Islam texts and dostoyevsky, and the darhampada, (don’t know how to spell that right now.) but I think I am going to like the class alot…

    But Yes I agree with the idea that the publishing companies conspireing to force people to buy new products.

    No,it is to deceive people and lead them to the pit of Hell.The King James Bible is God’s Word.The rest are cheap imitations.

    The closest you’re going to get in english is probably a KJV. One of mine is very old and has many tranlations from both Greek and Hebrew.

    I use the King James Version. I don’t really care if they keep changing the Bible around.

    WHY VERSIONS
    =============

    Some are with Good Intentions

    The King James Version was translated in 1616 and has not taken into account many more ancient manuscripts. So some versions are useful in error correction.

    Some are with Ulterior Motives
    =======================

    JW’s have their version to prove their points.

    Catholics want to prove that Mary will defeat satan Gen 3:15 and so Mary is the actual “deliverer” than the one who “delivered” Jesus.

    There are versions to pacify feminists, gays …

    Everyone has an agenda..

    If you have reaching Lord as your agenda, Be independent!

    If you get your hands on an older bible, you will discover that pieces have also been removed. The church does not believe people can handle the truth. They revise it so you will be too busy reading it to see it’s contents have been altered.

  15. Bob from Mars Says:

    Religion exist simply for $ and control. A revised edition of the “holey book” provides those needs to the publisher.

    you can get a bible for free - ask the Gideons.
