Does writing small notes in your textbook reduce its’ sell back price?
Scholes asked:
I’m in college and some of my books are kind of hard to understand. So, I’d like to note inside the book on the margin the meaning for certain things. If i wrote in the textbook would it reduce the sell back price? Because they were very expensive and i need to try and get all the money back from them as possible. If the price does reduce, i may rethink about writing in it. Thanks in advance!

No. Colleges buy back textbooks for the same price as long as it’s in readable/usable condition. You can write, highlight, etc in your textbooks and you’ll get the same price as if you never opened it. Also, your notes may help the next person who gets it
Good luck this year in school!

Yes it hurts the value if you plan on selling it back to the store. You should look for a pen that has little strips of post-it-notes built into it. Also, think about selling or trading it to another student or online when you are finshed with the class.
