The only way to do this is to pay for the books with your own money and then if you have any excess financial aid after your tuition and fees are paid the school will send you the excess. Usually 2 week after the semester has started or sometimes later. You then have the money to pay yourself back so to speak.
Some schools will allow you to “charge” your books against your financial aid at the campus book store before classes start and before the two week disbursement date, but not all schools allow this and it won’t do you any good if you are wanting to buy them from Amazon or Barnes and Noble. You can buy books from the websites that you want to, but you will have to spend your own money. The money that is from FAFSA is being transferred to your college and into the hands of your college. The money is put into your student ID card and that means that you must purchased the books from your college bookstore. ????
