If I sell a textbook on amazon.com, do I get the full amount I sold it for, or does Amazon take a percent for?

What other sites are efficient for selling textbooks

No, you don’t get the full amount you sell textbooks, etc., for on Amazon.com. If someone buys one of your books, you will owe Amazon fees for that sale. You can setup your checking account so you will be paid by Amazon automatically.
See the following link, for detail on their commissions, etc:
Note that you can also sell most anything on Amazon, including Amazon Kindle, Automotive parts, Cameras, Books, CD, Toys, Shoes, Jewelry, Movies, Sporting Goods, DVD, Cell phones, Computers, Electronics, Musical instruments, Watches, etc.
The Amazon fees vary by product, which you can find here:

A trick to quickly sell Textbooks (or anything else, for that matter) is to use the “Sell yours here” option, which you can find detail on by clicking here:

They take a cut that’s approximately the cost of shipping. So you eat shipping but keep the rest. You can become a power seller if you sell enough stuff each month and Amazon doesn’t take as much of a commission.
Another great site for selling is half.com. It’s run by ebay for things like books, movies, and music without having auctions. I highly recommend it if you’re not using amazon. They probably have the same commission structure though.
Hope that helped.

If it’s a homeschooling textbook or one that homeschoolers might use, check yahoo groups for homeschoolers. There are quite a number of groups for buy/sell/trade of homeschooling material. Otherwise, there is always eBay!
