I’m looking at websites that rent out textbooks by the semester, and it looks like a really good deal- around half as much as it would cost to buy used textbooks (I’m not even considering new ones). What are your experiences in selling books at the end of the semester though? Which would be, altogether, saving the most money?

I have some textbooks from when I was working on my degree in university. I’m moving apartments soon and want to get rid of some of the ones I’m no longer using. After having spent a fortune on buying the books, I dont have the heart to just give them away for free (besides not knowing who to give them to who would enjoy reading them ) so I’m looking for a place to sell them where I would be able to get a decent price for them. I dont want to join ebay because from what I understand, I would need to pay money first to join without any guarantee that I’d be able to sell the books. I need some place where I dont have to pay to join, and can get a decent price for the books I’m selling. Ideas, anyone?

well, I’ll be a freshman college student this september, and they gave me a list of textbooks to buy, i almost freaked out when i saw the prices. Anyways, for example the biology newest version 2005 i think is 150, while i can buy the 2002 edition for 4 bucks!!!! would it be a really big huge freaking difference between those 2? what you think? there is no way im gonna pay this kind of money in textbooks, they are ripping the students off, this is a total scam…

I work at my library on campus and found all the same textbooks in the library as the ones the classes are asking me to buy, BUT the library holds the old editions.

Should I worry about using the older edition? Should I ask my teacher about the older editions?

I’d really hate to use all my money on books again for textbooks I’d only use once.
