Cheap College Book

If I buy my textbooks from my school’s website, they will be very expensive. I want to buy them from Amazon or eBay, but I’m afraid of how long it will take to get them. Classes start this Tuesday, but we all barely registered for classes today. Will my professors give me time to get the books or should I just order them from the school?

I will be starting my freshman year in college in about 2 and a half weeks and I was just thinking about the books and class material that I will be needing. And I realized that I might need my books in early so that I have them right away, but I wasn’t sure. There is website that works directly with my college to provide the accurate books I will be needing for each course. I just wanted to know from people who have already been in college or are still in college what they did. Should I order them in advanced or wait till I get the syllabus from my professors? I know all the websites and stuff and I know to try to get used books, I don’t need that kind of information!

I am considering a college change. I have just earned my Associates at Baker College of Flint. I was wondering if there is a more credible college here in Michigan that may be recognized if I search for a job outside of the state or if I were to move further up north. I realized that most of my professors with degrees and CPA certifications have gone to the University of Michigan. Would I be seen as a more credible candidate if I went to U of M instead of Baker? Would it look bad to get my degrees (Associate and Bachelor) from two different colleges? I would appreciate professional answers.

Do professors usually begin using textbooks on the first day? Or can I wait a little bit before buying?

About how often is it that there will be a textbook/book on the list of books to get and then it is not used at all?
