♥BR♥ asked: I’m using my english textbook for reference but idk how to cite it. When I use a line from a story, do I cite the textbook or the author of the story? Also, if I’m giving a summary of a short story, how would I cite that within the paper?

williamdefalco asked: In my case I use to sell the books back during my first two years of college, but upon entering my junior year I began keeping them for reference. It’s really helped out whenever I’m in a business discussion (my major) with a friend and some point needs to be backed up. Or whenever something interests me on TV and it’s great to look it up in the textbook. I know it’s costly to keep the textbooks instead of selling them back, but I still feel it’s currently well worth it, even as I’m currently onto my second major.
So what does everyone else do with their textbooks?
p.s. If there’s a Half-price books anywhere near you, stop by whenever there’s a month left before the start of each semester. They usually have the textbooks that nobody ever purchased clearanced out, down to about $1.00 in fact. I LOVE getting textbooks in this manner, especially when they involve broad-ranging subjects like psychology and chemistry.
