Arbitrary Person asked: I ordered one of my textbooks a week ago from Amazon, but the book is still out of stock. I looked for my textbook at other sites, but the Amazon copy was the cheapest. Should I wait for Amazon to eventually restock my textbook or just spend the extra money and get my book now?
My class starts next Wednesday and I know it is required for the class (the professor has already put up the syllabus).

XLR8 asked: oh and this is two different companies… online is half.com and return will be at the university book store
School starts tomorrow and the syllabus says we need the book asap. The thing is buying online is cheaper buy almost 50%.
So could I buy the book online and in the bookstore so I have one copy immediately and then when the book i bought online comes, could i return that to the bookstore?
return policy is the tuesday on the second week of class… the book should arrive before then

Penny asked:
I will be starting my freshman year in college in about 2 and a half weeks and I was just thinking about the books and class material that I will be needing. And I realized that I might need my books in early so that I have them right away, but I wasn’t sure. There is website that works directly with my college to provide the accurate books I will be needing for each course. I just wanted to know from people who have already been in college or are still in college what they did. Should I order them in advanced or wait till I get the syllabus from my professors? I know all the websites and stuff and I know to try to get used books, I don’t need that kind of information!

About how often is it that there will be a textbook/book on the list of books to get and then it is not used at all?
