Used textbooks, what to do with them?
Bookybell asked:
I attend a community college, they have a textbook buy back at the end of the semester. Thing is I have two books they wont buy back because they are using different books next semester. So now Im stuck with two textbooks I don’t need. Is there a place online where I can sell them? Im a little worried about selling them back online,I don’t want to get ripped off or whatever. So if anyone has any suggestions it would be very appreciated.

halfbooks.com and amazon are good places. also check and see if there are off campus stores that may buy them.

ebay. That’s where I buy most of mine. But don’t expect to get a lot for them. The school won’t buy them back probably because there’s a new edition out. They’re essentially obsolete.
(Ship them usps media mail, the postage is lots cheaper).

You could try keeping them. They might come in handy. I still have my undergraduate textbooks in my office today.

Hey, the good news is that you may not be stuck because other campuses may be using those older editions still. You can see if there is demand for your books (even the older editions) at
Good luck!
