Good question.

I usually always get my university books from amazon.com, sometimes it’s a little cheaper elsewhere (usually only by a dollar or two) but amazon.com is just the most safe, and usually cheapest. Brian A

I wouldn’t suggest “renting” books because if you wind up really enjoying a course, you’ll want to keep it in your personal collection, and perhaps use the books as a reference in term papers for semesters to come.

If you get your syllabus for class early (sometimes professors will post them online before the class starts), buy the books EARLY. Everyone in your class will go online and find the best deals that they can… so, be sure to be the early bird that catches the worm! Matthew

I’ve used and had great results. They are a textbook search engine that searches all the other online retailers and finds the best prices for the books you need. You can even specify whether you want to search for new, used or both. It’s pretty cool.
