you should buy your textbooks between mid-summer and before add/drop period is over. Marv

usually the bookstore for your college will tell you which books are for which classes either online or definitely in person. On the schedule of classes there may even be a link that says “find out what books are for this class” or something like that. You should buy your books as soon as possible and try to not buy them from your college book store. Try websites like half.com, you will save a TON of money! Mad Spinach

Yes, the professor will most definatly let you know. You can often buy used books from other students who have taken the same classes before you for much cheaper so wait it out. I’m sure you will see flyers around campus. QueenofHearts

It is never a good idea. I got through both college and grad school without buying a single book. And if you want to waste your money on books you will never read, dont go to your bookstore at school. Go on amazon and buy an older edition, bc the author could add one sentence in a book, and keep everything else exactly the same, and that would mean they would print another edition and charge you a whole hell of a lot more money. laurenmc119

You can find out what books you need buy from the bookstore. Print a copy of your classes and bring them with you. The people at the bookstore will help you find your books. Your professors will not help you and will look down on you for not being prepared for their class. Timothy H

For me, I’ll buy my textbook once I know exactly which book I need, say when I learn about it from my professor. So the book can come in handy whenever I need it.
I also recommend you to check the price on Amazon once you know what textbook you need. It often give good discount:
Hope it helps
