Why do so many chemistry textbooks insist on still using this error involving acids?
spiderhedron asked:
The error is their stating that adding acids to water increases “hydrogen ion” (H+) concentration. As you probably know, what really happens is that adding acids to water increases hydronium ion (H3O+) concentration. Some textbooks get it right, but why can’t they ALL fix this mistake?

i don’t have the slightest idea why don’t you send a letter about this to the people who write and print the books you might be able to nip this problem in the bud.
